Stepping into the United States felt like stepping onto a stage where I did not know my lines but I knew I had to perform. Back in India I was Roshan surrounded by family and comfort. Here I became Ray a name that feels lighter and brighter. Ray is not just the English translation of Roshan it is also the beginning of a new identity. This is where Life of the Showboy begins.

The first two days were full of emotions that clashed inside me. Nervousness about money paperwork and adapting to the American way of life sat heavily on my mind. I worried about finding a part time job and keeping up with the rules here. Communication felt different too. In India I was used to a high context way of speaking but here people are direct clear and rule bound. I knew I had to learn and adapt.
At the same time I felt excitement bubbling under the nerves. For the first time I was out of my comfort zone. I started socializing with international students from all over the world and with local Americans who welcomed me with smiles. I walked long distances to explore my new surroundings something I never did much back home. Every step made me feel independent and stronger.
Leaving home was not easy but I see now that this new life is also a gift. I am learning to manage my time my energy and my courage. I am not just studying abroad I am building a new version of myself.
The story is only beginning. Roshan has become Ray and the spotlight has shifted to a new chapter. This is not just a move to the USA it is the first act in the journey of the showboy.
The curtain never falls in Life of the Showboy it just rises on the next act. See you in the next chapter.
